Nursery worker (supported employee) - Yarra View Bushland Flora Nursery

Disability Support Workers - Warragul - Part time

Work Type: Part Time / Full Time (between 20 and 38 hours per week)

If you have a disability and a current NDIS plan with funding for employment, you are interested in gaining meaningful employment in horticulture and would like to learn all aspects of nursery work, love being outdoors and want to work as part of a team.

Our supported employees develop their workplace skills in relation to tasks, conduct, performance and Occupational Health and Safety, with the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications through our unique training partnerships with TAFE colleges.

SUPPORT WORKERS

This important role provides evening support to adults living with disability in a group social setting. Working closely with clients, you will develop, schedule and coordinate an annual calendar of social activities ensuring a fun and safe environment. Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Knowledge of client support requirements, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Ensuring the schedule of activities are communicated to clients and their families/carers.
  • Assisting with clients’ personal care support
  • Maintaining NDIS reporting protocols using Knoxbrooke systems.

Although currently 3 days per week, there may be the opportunity for additional hours as the service expands. You will be able to rest up as the centre takes term breaks throughout the year.

Disability Support Workers - Casual - Outer East

Disability Support Worker - Casual - Warragul

Your role will be to provide support to clients both at home and in the community by assisting them with the activities of daily living such as:

  • personal care and hygiene
  • meal preparation and assistance
  • planned outings such as shopping or recreational activities
  • domestic assistance

You will be responsible for following the participant’s Individual Care Plan (ICP) and ensuring the appropriate records are completed and kept up to date. Support may also include administering and recording medication, if required.
