Due to significant growth, this newly created role is key to supporting Yarra View Garden Centre’s base of trade customers; including landscapers, other retailers, florists, online nurseries, gardeners and builders. Following significant growth, this newly created role in our Garden Centre will be the ‘go-to’ for providing quality horticultural advice to our customers on plant selection, planting, pest & disease identification and treatment. This key role will ensure our customers leave with a positive experience, confident the advice they’ve received with assist them with their purchase. Role responsibilities will also include:
• Drive and create sales opportunities through providing face-to-face horticultural advice to both trade and retail customers
• Manage the health of all garden centre stock (maintaining a spray plan where appropriate)
• Work with the Nursery Manager to ensure an appropriate weed management program at our York Road site
• Develop and implement appropriate watering rosters in collaboration with other team members (indoor and outdoor)
• Work closely with our merchandiser to ensure appropriate stock placement in line with seasonal weather conditions
• Use of point of sales and EFTPOS machines to process transactions
