Leisure Supports FAQ

Leisure Support helps people stay connected, active, and engaged in their community by providing support to participate in social and recreational activities. Throughout the year, Knoxbrooke organises a variety of outings and experiences, including concerts, movies, community events, mini golf, and other social activities designed to promote friendships, confidence, and community participation.

Activities are planned and published each quarter, giving participants the opportunity to choose and register for the events that interest them. Our team provides the support needed for participants to enjoy meaningful experiences, build social connections, and have fun in a safe and inclusive environment.

Leisure Support is available to NDIS participants who would like support to access their community, participate in social and recreational activities, and build meaningful connections with others. The service is ideal for people who enjoy getting out and about, trying new experiences, and engaging in activities with like-minded peers, while receiving the level of support they need to participate confidently and safely.

Whether it’s attending a concert, seeing a movie, joining a community event, or taking part in a social outing, Leisure Support provides opportunities to have fun, develop friendships, and stay connected to the community in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Yes, any costs for activities such as entrance fees, tickets, myki passes or meals form out of pocket expenses and clients will need to ensure they bring adequate funds to cover these costs at the time of the activity. If a client does not bring money to pay independently the cost will be invoiced to the client or person/organisation nominated to pay out of pocket expenses.

Where activities require tickets to be pre-booked i.e. musicals/shows, the cost of the ticket is NOT refundable regardless of the notice period.  However, it may be possible to transfer the ticket and cost to another client.
